International Forum in Ufa devoted to the ILO’s 100-th anniversary

The International Forum ‘Future of work: decent work for all’ took place in Ufa on February 4-5. The Forum was devoted to the International Labour Organization’s 100th anniversary.
The main purpose of the forum was to discuss topical issues in the field of labor relations and principles for building a future in the field of labor, as well as an exchange of views and experience in the development of social dialogue.
The Forum was organized by the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan together with the International Labor Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, FNPR, THE Academy of Labor and Social Relations. The representatives of governments, organizations of trade unions and employers from countries of the CIS and Europe, international institutions, federal executive authorities, departments of labor and employment of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the scientific community, as well as managers of oil and gas enterprises of Bashkortostan took part in the Forum.
In the framework of six discussion platforms the participants talked over the future of work. Issues such as youth employment, including in the context of new challenges and opportunities for the digital economy, the development of social partnership between business and trade unions, issues of gender equality and an inclusive work culture, the role of the employment service in modern realities were discussed.
All the participants from different countries and schools emphasized the importance of trade unions in the process of social and labor relations transformation in the context of reforming the global economy.
At the end of the Forum, a resolution was adopted.
